Shreveport, LA – New 3-story office building for the Port of Shreveport Bossier.   The project is registered with USGBC and is on track to be the first Gold LEED certified building in North Louisiana.  A complete team of LEED certified design professionals prepared plans and specifications and secured a LEED certified contractor for the construction of this Green Building.

In addition to building design, KBA managed the Interior Design and Landscape Architectural design for the Port.  All furnishing were selected in advance and a complete bid package was produced.  The furniture plans were competitively bid and the lowest bidder was awarded the furniture contract.

KBA and consultants also provided full audio/video design services and assisted in building wide computer networking and Server Room equipment layout along with equipment selection.  We traveled to both New Orleans and Dallas to meet with Cisco reps to design, layout and recommend computer systems, telephone systems, access controls and a building wide security system, including 15 cameras and enough hardware to back up months of digital camera footage.  The facility boasts three fully functional high end full HD video conferencing rooms, a large Multi-Purpose Room that can accommodate 280 people at a sit down dinner, the Port Commissioner’s Council Room, and an emergency operations room that serves as emergency backup for both the Port of New Orleans and the Port of Lake Charles.
